The XV International Aviation and Space Salon will be held in July 2021 in Zhukovsky
The XV International Aviation and Space Salon will be held in July 2021 in Zhukovsky, a town near Moscow. By the order of the Government of the Russian Federation № 1606-r dated July 19, 2021 MAKS-2021 was included in the list of international exhibitions of military products held on the territory of the Russian Federation in 2021.
The event will be organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Rostec State Corporation for Promotion of Development, Production and Export of High-tech Industrial Products.
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin emphasized the high status of the Airshow. Speaking at the opening ceremony of MAKS-2017, he noted: "...as a result of perseverance, the talent of its organizers, and the full support of the state MAKS really reached a high level and became an expected event for lovers of aerospace technology".
The International Aviation and Space Salon is one of the largest public events held in Russia. About 500 thousand people visit the exhibition during its working days. The record set by the MAKS-2001 exhibition, which was visited by more than 660 thousand people, is not surpassed by any other aerospace salon in the world.
For the first time in the history of the Russian Federation a large aviation exhibition with international participation "Mosaeroshow-92" was held on August 11-16, 1992 at the airfield of the Flight Research Institute named after M.M. Gromov (Gromov LII). Since 1993, the International Aviation and Space Salon has been held regularly, in odd years. The MAKS Airshow is always held at the site of the Gromov LII. Over the past 25 years, the airfield has been reconstructed and repaired, having the largest runway in Europe, capable of receiving the world's largest mass-produced Airbus A380 and An-124 "Ruslan" aircraft. Modern exhibition infrastructure, including capital pavilions and chalets, has been created. The road network connecting the exhibition complex with M-5 highway was expanded.
